Who you WON'T find at a Subsidies show:

Find out more about our anti-target demographic.

Question: I just got "Facebook'd." Should I hire an attorney?

Answer: Getting "Facebook'd" can actually be a positive experience. Sit back, relax, and just let it happen. Getting "Facebook'd" has been proven to build character, lower cholesterol, and decrease resting heart rate.

The Subsidies are now all set up on Facebook. Check out our profile, sign up, and you'll be all ready to do some serious "Facebooking" yourself. Facebook your friends, family, or that hottie you saw at our last show. Go nutz!

Reunited, and it feels so good!

The Subsidies and Summit Ave, two Twin Cities bands that both really like sandwiches, will be reunited on May 23 at O'Gara's in St. Paul.

It's pretty cool that both bands like sandwiches so much. Because, well, some people don't like sandwiches or the condiments that go in sandwiches. For example, I don't like mustard at all. Really dislike it. Jeff Worden, Summit Ave-er, does not particularly care for ketchup, even though that's stupid. Ketchup is awesome. What an idiot.

No, not Tavern on Grand

Your lovable Subsidies are heading back to Tav on the Ave in St. Paul on Saturday, June 21. No, this is not the place on Grand Avenue where you get tasty walleye sandwiches. That's the Tavern on Grand. Very different. Please pay attention here.

The last time we played Tav on the Ave, there was the first major snow storm of the year. It was really quite hellish, yet some our die-hards trudged through the blizzard to have some fun with us.

The lesson to learn here is that we play regardless of weather conditions. If there's a tornado, which is probably quite likely, expect us to still be playing.

Some poster love

Dual-threat singer/designer Collin Hummel was awarded a poster of the week nod for an older Bunkers show poster. Is there anything this guy can't do?! Well, yes. Origami. He's just terrible at origami.

Grievance of the moment:

I love (hate) the way the east coast says "in-tah-net."

That is all.

Stage Moves - Part Trix

Oh man I haven't had Trix in forever... Not a GREAT cereal - not on the level of Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Reese's Puffs - but surely a good cereal for switching it up every once and a while, so as to infuse a healthier "fruit" option into the morning routine.

I digress...

Here are a few more moves you might notice on stage at an upcoming Subsidies performance:

SCRATCH ACID

SHAKE 'N' BAKE

THE TRAMPOLINE

it's THIS big

THE "BEN ANDERSON" LIP CURL

YOU IN THE FRONT, GET ME A BEER

THE TEETER TOTTER

and of course, an all too familiar scene played out on stage in bars across the globe:

THE DRUNK GIRL WHO THINKS SHE CAN SING

A few beers, some music, and an MRI

The Subsidies will be heading south to Rochester to play a little rockin' music and maybe get a some outpatient work done at Mayo. When in Rome!

It's been a while since we've played Rookies, so this one's going to be big. BIG. And on top of that, we LOVE Rookies. This place knows how to take care of their musicians. The staff are awesome. And hell, water slides in the hotel! Now, that's rock and roll.
